The Story of a Family
A privileged witness to Antiquity, the Ardèche vineyard, praised by the Romans, quenched the thirst of the Middle Ages and charmed the Renaissance, to acquire in the 17th century a reputation as a great vintage.
Domaine de Bournet is the fruit of a long winemaking tradition rooted in history, a living link between past and future. And it was in the year of grace 1735 that Jean-Emmanuel de Guignard, Knight and advisor to the King, granted permission to the ancestors of the current owners to replant the vines of Clos de Voidon on the Domaine de Bournet property.
Long cultivated by successive generations, the vineyard entered a new era in 1992 , when Count Xavier de Bournet , Architect, and his wife Countess Danielle de Bournet decided to take over the family business.
With passion and courage, they took on the challenge of rebuilding everything: complete restructuring of the vineyard, replanting 21 hectares of vines, construction of a modern 1000 m² winery, restoration of the 18th-century stone building… and of course, the production of great wines faithful to the unique character of this terroir.
After studying economics in Belgium, Olivier de Bournet joined his parents at the estate. Today, he manages it with his wife Isaline , accompanied by a dedicated team: employees, interns, seasonal workers and loyal friends.
The Domaine de Bournet is much more than a place of production: it is a living estate, driven by the enthusiasm of a family, animated by events throughout the year, and looking towards the future with the complicity of Augustin, Corentin, Célestine and Capucine, the fourth generation already on the move.
